BIOGRAPHY AND CAUSE OF DEATH: Retired MILITARY MAN, Major-General Abdullahi Muraina, confirmed dead

Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Retired MILITARY MAN, Major-General Abdullahi Muraina, has confirmed dead.

The retired major-general halls from Adeoyo area in the present Ibadan North Local government area of Oyo state.

Muraina was until his death the president and chairman of the Council of Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered).

The cause of the death of the retired major-general has not been ascertained as at the time of filing this report on Friday.

Also elected were Dr Christiana Vincent-Atako, a former acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Niger Delta Development Commission (NNDC) as Deputy President while Commodore Abimbola Ayuba (rtd.), a former Director at both Defence Headquarters and Naval Headquarters, Abuja, becomes the National Treasurer.



The new President, a Fellow of the Institute since 2011 and its former National Treasurer is an alumnus of the both University of Lagos and the University of Ilorin from where he obtained a B.Sc. in Accounting and Master of Business Administration respectively.

He had an early Koranic education and attended the Islamic Mission School, Odoye Ibadan for his primary education before proceeding to the Nigerian Military School, Zaria for his secondary education between 1972 and 1976. He was at the Polytechnic Ibadan for his Advanced Level. 

While in the service of the Nigerian Army, Muraina was decorated with Forces Service (FSS), Meritorious Service Star (MSS), Distinguished Service Star (DSS), and Grand Service Star (GSS). He was also honoured with General Service Medal of Honour, Command Medal of Honour and Field Command Medal of Honour amongst others.
